I could generate a bland post about our newest award but I'll let the winner speak for himself...

I am Francisco Vega, a proud Nicole V. Reed Memorial Foundation Culinary Award recipient. I would like to take a moment to thank you for this scholarship! This scholarship is very beneficial to me as a first-generation college student. It is often hard to find scholarships as a culinary student, which causes me to stress about the amount of money needed to stay in school, but scholarships like this

one truly make it possible for me to stay in school. I dual major in a Bachelor of

Science in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Food & Beverage Entrepreneurship at Johnson & Wales University. I plan to open my own restaurant in the future, and this scholarship truthfully brings me one step closer to achieving my goals. Thank you for believing in me and other students like me and supporting us in our future endeavors. Thank you once again for the scholarship; it is truly an honor.
